Smart Robotic Systems

1470kopia_CBprofil_smallWe are team of young and enthusiastic developers from eastern Slovakia focused mostly on advanced robotic applications. We spent a lot of time building and controlling all kinds of robots during our studies, but since we discovered ROS, all our effort is oriented this way.

The main goal of this web is to popularize ROS framework in our region (Czech Republic and Slovakia), to explain the possibilities of the ecosystem, attract students to robot programming and  build a local community of ROS developers. We are active in two main domains – Mobile and Industrial Robotics:

Development of autonomous micro aerial vehicles for use in indoor or GPS restricted environments is the main part of our effort. Currently we use DJi 450, 550 and Parrot A.R. Drone multicopter platforms and T-REX 600 and T-REX450 helicopters. Latest news: Pathfinder in test operation in Košice-Šaca Hospital!

In July 2017, Pathfinder was officially introduced in a test operation at in the Kosice-Šaca Hospital. The pilot project of hospital logistics automation is the first similar application of robotic mobile technology in a hospital environment in the Slovak Republic and a result of cooperation between Department of Electrical Engineering and Mechatronics FEI TUKE , Photoneo and Košice-Šaca Hospital. Watch the video

Autonomous Škoda Fabia – Hardware – We got inspired by Michael Aeberhard presentation at ROSCon 2015 and decided to experiment with our SLAM technology originally developed for SRSbot on real vehicle. aruco_3_smallAruco mapping release! – SmartRoboticSystems announces release of aruco_mapping package which is a simple localization system based on well-known AR tags. It allows user to create a map of markers in 2D or 3D space and of course to estimate full 6DOF camera pose in real time. Schunk GripIMG_3562pers & first demo application – In recent post, we have described all the steps required for successful integration of Schunk grippers with Motoman SDA10F. Google Summer of Code, TRADR and another duties caused 3 week delay in ongoing development but during first September week we got back to the work. It primarily aims at development of innovative solutions for European manufacturing in order to keep global leadership in products and services. More than 110 teams from several european countreis have participated in the first qualification phase which was divided into three challenges and consisted from several ROS oriented programming tasks.
